James "JW" Walter
JW is just Some Guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now it's his job to keep the people of Hawksaw safe from whatever haunts the woods surrounding the town. Sometimes he has to protect those supernatural things from the people. He originally hails from 1974 but he fell through a hole in the world and now he's adapting to the late 00's.
Deuteronomy
A sassy Suturacarum originally created by The Old Man to act as his assistant. JW befriended her and now she teaches him everything that The Old Man taught her and he teaches her a few things too. She enjoys being mysterious, vintage American television like Gunsmoke and Gilligan's Island, and gambling.
Havoc
One half of JW's conscience. The resident bad boy, Havoc often acts before he thinks and his eyes are bigger than his stomach. Lives in the cookie jar on the windowsill.
Harmony
One half of JW's conscience. Well-mannered and long-suffering, Harmony struggles to keep JW out of trouble. He loves rules and hates staying up past his bedtime. Lives on the bookshelf between The Encyclopedia of The Natural World and a issue of Better Homes and Gardens.
Shirley
A retired kindergarten teacher, mother, and werewolf. A dear friend to JW. She was put on the hill by the Do Good Girls same as JW and they comiserate on their experience. She keeps a modest garden and loves realitity TV.
Noelle
She runs an antique booth at the big indoor fleamarket in town. Noelle has always been interested in the paranormal and she's highly suspicious of this so-called Town Hero that keeps solving peoples' problems. She has the ability to dreamwalk and that makes her think she has more psychic powers she's yet to discover.
Vidaya
A witch that lives deep in the woods of Hawksaw.
Chief Bugle
The policeman who pulled JW into this Town Hero business in the first place. He offered JW a deal--health care in return for making sure he didn't have to deal with any supernatural stuff. It's not the best gig, but JW will take what he can get. Hopelessly in love with the receptionist at the station. Knows more than he lets on.
