I love roleplay.

I have loved roleplay since 2004. I started on forums and instant messangers and then moved to Furcadia and eventually came to find my home on Dreamwidth. I play both original and fandom characters. My earliest days, I mained my fursona at the time, Wolfy. Wolfy was, as you may have guessed a wolf, but I haven't really gotten involved in capital W Wolf RP before. The characters I've played her off of were always people or furries.

ENTER: The Island of Mezaai in the year of our lord 2026.

TIOM is a free wolf rp game on Roblox. There are MANY wolf rps on Roblox and none of them ever grabbed my attention--mostly because I have no idea what to RP a wild wolf doing. And they were all pretty freeform with no guidance so I was like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. In general I don't mess around much on Roblox unless a friend and I are playing a game because there are A Lot of Kids and I Do Not want to talk to them. No hate, but I just wanna talk to other adults. Recently my friend told me that they introduced a SPLIT where if you have an age verified account you only see other 18+ players' chats. NICE. This made me more willing to explore the game again.

Back to TIOM. My friend Rinley told me about it because we were sharing various roleplaying misadventures. He plays around on the game sometime and has really had a good time. He in fact, made a power point introducing the game. One slide featured an in-game OOC museum you could visit which detailed the history of the game itself and also boasted an exhibit explaining all of the game's lore. This game actually has lore. Factions. Worldbuilding. My ears perked up and I asked for a tour.

Here is the part of the museum that tells about the history of the game. There's also a wing for spotlighting community art! there's more than what I showed here, so go give 'em a look!

Here are some pictures of the lore section of the museum. There are two parts of it. One part contains a quick guide called The Basics that you can read and then jump right in and play. The other part contains more detailed exhibits about the world including some stuff your wolf will not know in-character. I spent about two hours in this museum just looking at everything. I was so impressed. TIOM has been running for about 15 years by a tiny team of volunteers. They do it for the love of the game. They're also very involved in the community discord. The game map is also very pretty and has lots of locations for scenic roleplaying including a forest, a crystal mountain cave, a desert, and of course WOLF HELL. If you're interested in reliving your childhood with some oldschool wolf RP, I highly reccomend dropping into The Island of Mezaai and saying hello!
