It's been a long time since I've done any trad. art.

Mostly because it takes up space and it's so hard to share online, but also because I've been able to get the results I want much faster with digital. My digital art has improved a lot over the last year. But I've been wanting to get back into traditional. I miss making stuff with my hands. It also keeps me humble. Saturday and Sunday night, I got out my mismatched acrylics and some little canvases I bought years ago.

Here are the results.

This is the painting I made Saturday night. I'm pretty happy with it! I did get frustrated waiting for the layers to dry fully so I could make the colors more solid. I think that's going to be my biggest problem when it comes to learning acrylics. And it's sad because acrylics are often talked about like "you gotta work fast because they dry so quickly" and I'm like DRY FASTER *blasts with hairdryer*. I did make it all the way to a finished painting though!

Sunday, tonight, I started a new painting.

Working on this painting has been like fighting a war. It's not DONE yet. I know a poor carpenter blames his tools but my fursona is stupid colors and all I had was this Doller General neon paint set that had the pink I need and ALSO my BIG ENTIRE FULL TUBE of blue medium is DRIED TO FUCK so I had to throw it away. So I only had the DG blues and what color I managed to get out of the water saturated chunks I managed to pry out of the dried tube with a pallet knife.

The DG paint is SO SO SO thin. I started mixing it with my Liquitex Basic White and that helped a LOT but man. It's just learning. It's all bumping into walls and making a big mess and learning. Eventually I will be able to decorate my house with wild colorful stuff!
